Disability and Poverty in the Global South: activating movements for change

Basic Information: Five day course held in Malta, organised by Integra Foundation Malta in collaboration with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU)
Funded by: Grundtvig Adult Training
Date: 05/11-09/11/2012

The recent World Report on Disability estimates that some one billion people around the globe are disabled and some 80% live in the global South. Around 20% of the worlds poorest are said to be disabled people. The organizers have tapped into a transnational team from academia and civil society to engage critically, and discuss in participatory ways, key themes around disability and poverty in the global South. The course is built on a commitment to raising awareness of development issues, promoting development education initiatives, and support actions promoting poverty reduction, especially among the poorest populations. All are welcome to apply!
