To support the implementation and smooth running of their Joint Action campaign, CIDSE is looking for a Campaigns Officer.

In a nutshell: 
He/she will have to organise the flow of essential information among the network and wider groups; to cooperate closely with CIDSE staff involved in the campaign and under the guidance of the project coordinator; to support the development of campaign tools including some communications tools; to report on the project progress and budget; to undertake event management including logistics especially in Paris at the occasion of the climate UN negotiations - COP21 (December 2015).

The position is full-time, part-time is possible with a minimum 75%. The position is until 31/01/2016 with possibility of extension depending on funding availability.

United Nations University PhD Internships

The internship gives registered doctoral students an opportunity to utilize the resources and facilities at UNU-WIDER for their PhD dissertation or thesis research, and to work with UNU-WIDER researchers in areas of mutual interest. Applicants must be enrolled in a PhD programme and have shown ability to conduct research on developing economies. Vacancy: PhD Researcher - The Multi-Level Governance of Immigration and Diversity

The Institute for European Studies (IES) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) is calling for applications for one full-time doctoral researcher in migration, cultural diversity and citizenship policies. Within a broader multi-level governance framework, PhD projects could explore any of the following sub-themes:
• the politics and policy of free movement in the EU
• the politics and policy of de-radicalization in the EU
• mainstreaming immigrant integration across policy levels and policy sectors
• migration and cultural diversity policy making in multi-level states (e.g. Belgium, Germany, Spain, UK, Italy)

OHCHR Minorities Fellowship Programme

Fellowship: monthly stipend to cover accommodation and living expenses, insurance and travel costs The Minorities Fellowship Programme (MFP) was launched by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in 2005.

Through the MFP, the OHCHR aims to give persons belonging to national or ethnic, religious and linguistic minorities an opportunity to gain knowledge on the UN system and mechanisms dealing with international human rights in general and minority rights in particular. The MFP is intended to assist organizations and communities in protecting and promoting the rights of minorities the fellows belong to.

Author to design online course on “Minority needs in Local governance and planning”

Minority Rights Group Europe (MRG), a Budapest-based NGO is seeking to engage an author to design 6 weeks interactive training curriculum content on raising awareness of LAs representatives in addressing minority needs. The training will be part of an EC-funded programme in the Eastern Partnership (EaP countries, especially Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) that aims at increased capacities and networking between minority activists and organisations.

The European Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ECNL) is currently seeking a Senior Legal Advisor to join its team in Budapest. ECNL is the leading European research and policy center promoting the strengthening of a supportive legal environment for civil society. Over the past 10 years, ECNL has demonstrated deep commitment to empower local partners to lead reforms, and has contributed to the development of over 6o laws and policies supporting civil society organizations (CSOs). ECNL is the European affiliate of the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law.

Main duties and responsibilities
By joining ECNL, the senior legal advisor will become part of an international network of CSO lawyers working on issues such as: framework laws for CSOs; policies and laws for CSO sustainability; models for CSO-Government partnerships; participation and policy dialogue; and counter-terrorism initiatives affecting CSOs. The Senior Legal Advisor will engage in legislative processes affecting CSOs in the developing countries and will work closely with the Executive Director on initiatives at a European level. S/he will help build capacity of local partners, research frameworks and practices that support or impede CSO work, help develop advocacy strategies. S/he will also participate in ECNL’s work to promote CSO development effectiveness and will engage in initiatives at the EU and UN level affecting freedom of association and assembly.
The position requires intensive travel.

Beyond 2015 is recruiting an International Officer to support the work of the Beyond 2015 campaign, specifically in terms of communication, translation, website and the “Supportive States’ initiative”.

The International Officer will be responsible for the translation of all relevant documents into French and Spanish, the development and maintenance of the Beyond 2015 website in three languages, the coordination of the ‘Supportive states’ initiative and the ‘Lead with the Leaders’ webinar series. S/he will also support the International Coordinator in communication with the whole campaign, and may be required to represent Beyond 2015 internationally.

Join skilled volunteers in Bangladesh and South Sudan

VSO and EU AID Volunteers launched an exciting new European volunteering programme aimed at engaging skilled professionals in humanitarian aid activities.

What volunteers do we need?
We need volunteers with solid experience of gender advocacy, fundraising, management, as well as health professionals and agriculture / natural resource management professionals. Volunteers will work to build the capacity of organisations and individuals to increase resilience and improve their response to crises. We have projects in Bangladesh and South Sudan and we need over 30 volunteers to work with a variety of local institutions, charities, NGOs and business, to help to provide humanitarian support and professional expertise. The last placements within this pilot project start in January and are about 3 to 24 months months long.

The project is implemented by VSO International , VSO Netherlands and Pro Vobis and is part of a series of pilot projects developed within the frame of The European Voluntary Humanitarian Aid Corps (EVHAC). From February 2012 to April 2013, our project will select, train and deploy 40 volunteer experts from across the European Union in programmes focussed on disaster-preparedness (Bangladesh) and post-conflict recovery (South Sudan). Volunteers working under the EVHAC project will be placed directly with VSO’s partner organisations in these countries, and will be supported by VSO local offices.

The European Voluntary Humanitarian Aid Corps (EVHAC) is an initiative developed by the European Community Humanitarian Office (ECHO) of the European Commission and is grounded on the Treaty of Lisbon. Its overall aim is to provide international volunteer opportunities for Europeans to engage in humanitarian aid and civil protection activities around the world. The EVHAC project is sponsoring several pilot projects, which will contribute to laying the grounds for a community of European volunteers active in the field. This project is one of the pilot projects under the EVHAC scheme.
